My Family
My family lives overseas. My parents live in Poland and my older sister with her husband found their place in England. It is heartbreaking to have everyone you love so far away, but we try to see each other every year. The month of May 2011 was a very exciting time in my life. I got married on Smarts Beach in Key West, Florida and ten days later I brought my first animal home. I was so happy to get a dog. His name is Tyson and he is the sweetest animal on earth. I adore him and love spending time with him. My Journey to America
I was born in a small town in Poland. After I graduated from high school I told my parents that I was going to the United States to make my dreams come true. First, I wanted to become highly proficient in English. Second, I wanted to become an elementary teacher. As you may guess my parents were not satisfied with my decision, but I followed my heart. I knew I had to pack and leave or I would regret this decision for the rest of my life. I came to this country as an Au-Pair and lived with an American family. The second week of my stay was really dramatic. It was when September 11 in 2001 happened; a day I will never forget. It was not easy being so far away from the family but my dreams held me tight. I signed up for college and graduated with Associate in Arts from College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn. Not only was I going to school but working with children as a nanny. Every single day with them was a day of new experiences, which is what I love about children. They fill my life with happiness, excitement, and ample opportunities to learn. |
